Richly Scented Candles: Our ONLY Product
Subject: Richly Scented Candles We make every Appalachian Candle using the same steadfast recipe: 12% oil to roughly 22 pounds of very high quality wax. This results in a "batch" of about 28 18 oz. candles. And that ratio of essential oils to wax is just right to allow the wax, which is roughly at 180 degrees F, to bond with the wax molecules. We then set them aside to cool, in specially insulated containers, and, when the wax is just beginning to harden, we insert two tabbed wicks. This sounds incredibly simple, but you would be surprised at just how much trial and error it took to get that formula right. And, so, why am I sharing it on the open Internet? Because we want you to know just how much effort and expertise it takes to result in a candle that you can simply light up and burn, without worrying about whether the aroma will be rich or whether the "melt pool" will be nice and deep and even - all the way to the bottom of the jar. Sure, you can try this recipe at home. Please do. But it's a whole lot easier just to order a half-dozen or so of our candles and skip the fuss! :-)
